Which size of Cool Cap should I pick?Updated 3 hours ago

Important: Our Sizing Has Changed

We recently launched an updated version of the Icekap Cool Cap, and with the new design, our sizing has changed as well.

The updated Icekap is now available in two sizes: Regular and L/XL. If you've purchased an Icekap in the past, please don't rely on the size of your previous cap. We recommend measuring your head again and using the current sizing guide below to find your best fit.

How to Measure Your Head

Getting the right measurement only takes a minute:

  1. Grab a flexible measuring tape. A soft fabric, cloth, or flexible plastic measuring tape works best. If you don't have one, you can also use a piece of string and measure it afterward with a ruler.

  2. Wrap the tape around the widest part of your head. Position it across the middle of your forehead, above your eyebrows and ears, and around the largest part of the back of your head.

  3. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug. It should sit against your head without squeezing. Make sure the tape doesn't slip below your eyebrows.

  4. Record your measurement in inches and compare it with our current sizing chart to select your Icekap.

Choosing the Best Fit

A few things can affect which size feels best:

Between sizes? Size up.
If your measurement falls near the border between Regular and L/XL, we generally recommend choosing the larger size. Remember that the gel packs take up some room inside the cap once they're inserted, so a little additional space can make for a more comfortable fit.

Consider your hair.
If you have particularly thick or voluminous hair, sizing up may provide a more comfortable fit.

Consider how you like to wear your Icekap.
If you prefer stronger compression, you may prefer the smaller size when your measurement comfortably falls within its range. If comfort and a little extra room are your priority, the larger size may be the better choice.

A Fit You Can Adjust

Icekap Cool Caps feature adjustable compression straps that allow you to customize the fit once the cap is on. This helps you achieve comfortable, even contact around your head without relying on an overly tight cap.

Our Cool Caps are designed for everyone. While we find that many women are comfortable in the Regular and many men prefer the L/XL, your actual head measurement—not gender—is always the best way to choose your size.
