How does the IceKap Work?Updated 2 hours ago

Thank you for your question — we’re always happy to explain how the IceKap can help bring relief.

Cold therapy has been used for centuries to ease headaches, calm inflammation, and soothe pain. When the head and scalp are exposed to cold, the blood vessels constrict, which can reduce local blood flow and dampen the transmission of pain signals. This mechanism is one reason cold therapy is widely used to help with migraine and headache relief. Research supports this: early studies demonstrated that cooling the head and neck can help reduce migraine pain intensity (Hsu et al., 2023; Üzen et al., 2020; Ulcer et al., 2006).

The IceKap combines therapeutic cooling with gentle, adjustable compression to enhance relief. Simply keep your IceKap (and its gel packs) in the freezer — ideally in a freezer bag to keep it clean and ready for use. When you feel a headache or migraine coming on, take the cap out of the freezer, place it on your head, and adjust the straps to a comfortable level of compression. Many users describe feeling a sense of soothing relief wash over them within minutes.

The combination of cooling and compression not only helps reduce pain but also supports a sense of calm and grounding during migraine episodes. This approach provides a drug-free, non-invasive option for managing headaches and can be easily integrated into a home-care routine (Hsu et al., 2023; Üzen et al., 2020; Ulcer et al., 2006).
